10 Reasons Spring Cleaning Is the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

With some of the recent warmer weather we have been having it’s hard not to start firing up those spring cleaning lists!  We are all looking forward to getting the house cleaned from top to bottom and off load some of the stuff that has started to weigh us down.  But have you ever wondered WHY we look forward to it so much?   As we were doing some reading on the internet, we stumbled across this article and thought that maybe you would enjoy it too!

OK, it’s not quite Christmas. But it’s so worth celebrating.

They might not write carols about it, but we totally look forward to the annual cleaning season. There are silver linings abound in those weekends spent dusting, decluttering, and washing (not least of all, a nice clean house).

1. Your wish for a bright, light-flooded home will come true.
When windows aren’t dingy, shelves aren’t dusty, and stubborn stains have finally been lifted, your home will feel light, airy, and inviting again.

2. It’s a second chance to make good on that New Year’s resolution.
Did you resolve to clean out your linen closet, take stock of your pantry, or plan a playroom garage sale this year? The advent of cleaning season means you haven’t yet failed and reached for the proverbial diet-busting donut — which we suppose in the cleaning world, might be buying yet another LEGO kit without donating an old one first.

3. There’s strange satisfaction in knowing that even the dust you don’t often see is now totally gone.
The space behind your toilet, nearly hidden baseboards, and the floor underneath your bed will all be spotless. Ahhhh.

4. You might earn yourself dinner out with all that change you find in the couch.
OK, maybe just a frozen yogurt.

5. Cleaning your home from top to bottom totally qualifies as a workout.
One step closer to toned arms, no free weights required.

6. Finally taking care of winter’s damage to your yard is the first step in planning a backyard barbecue.
Think of it as party prep rather than yardwork. We can almost taste the hot dogs.

7. Because, like the life rulebook says, if you donate ten dresses you no longer wear, you get to buy a new one.
We’re not making this up.
