We are able to clean draperies on location, but we prefer to take them back to our shop as our cleaning process is much more thorough and shows higher results when we have time and space to work with them. The problem with doing them in your house is we have to use our upholstery tool, and this means cleaning them with water instead of a solvent. When working with draperies and water you have to be extremely careful because this can cause shrinking. Solvent you can do a much deeper saturation without that worry. We won’t clean with the solvent in your home as the smell of the piece will be in your home for weeks, and on top of that the solvent can easily pull finish from hardwood floors, and furniture. We also have a limited access to the top of your draperies in your home as many times they are tucked underneath a valance, or other form of window treatment. Another thing with cleaning them on location is you won’t have the opportunity to clean the dust off of the rod etc.
