Carpet Cleaning Safety Tips for Elderly People

There are many things you can do to make carpet cleaning more comfortable, but also safe, for elderly people.

Carpet Cleaning Safety Tips for Elderly People

Here are J & R’s top safety tips for carpet cleaning.

Preventing Slips

When J & R’s Carpet Cleaning comes to your home and provides a professional carpet cleaning service for you and your family, it’s important to remember that we will be cleaning your carpets for almost 5 hours.

Due to the extended cleaning time, your carpets won’t be instantly dry once the process is complete and you will need to keep in mind that they will remain damp for a little while after.

This isn’t a huge issue for most, but when people walk from damp carpets to any hardwood or tile surface, there can be potential for slips to happen.

We recommend making sure everyone is safe from slips and falls by wearing nonslip socks or slippers, or simply laying towels in walking lanes to prevent accidents.

Make Sure Someone Is There

The best advice we like to give our clients with elderly family members living in homes that we clean is to make sure someone is always there during the “damp phase” of the carpet cleaning process.

J & R’s Carpet Cleaning also makes it a priority to spend a longer amount of time drying carpets in homes that we work on where we know there is an elderly person living to help make sure they are safe from slips, falls, and other accidents.
