We get a lot of people asking us about real or fake Christmas trees. We know its a family tradition for many people to go pick the tree etc so don’t change just because of what we are saying but we just want you to have a great holiday season with as little mess as possible. We will always suggest to customers to get the fake tree. This will save you from sap, pine needles, and impurity filled water spills.
If you do end up going with the real tree there are a couple of steps that you can do to help prevent any problems.
-Always lay down a tree skirt and when we say that we suggest a white one as if the red ones get wet they have potential to bleed into your carpet causing irreversible damage. Another thing you can do is lay a sheet of plastic underneath the tree skirt as well just as another precaution. This way not only will the plastic catch any water, that has been spilled, but also will prevent any bleeding from reaching your carpet.
-Another thing you can do If you have pets that like to climb the tree is put foil inside of the thick base area. For some reason animals do not like foil.
-To be safe as well make sure to read our blog on how to spot clean sap so you know how to get it up the minute you see it on the carpet.
