There are many people out there who neglect their draperies in the cleaning aspect. This isn’t done intentionally, but happens due to the fact that they never really look dirty until you look either really closely at them, or look at the UNDERSIDE! Many of you will be amazed if you look at the backing of the draperies to find millions of dust mites. Think about the location of your draperies. They are near doors, windows, etc. Every time you open your door or window all these dust mites who have made this spot their home get sent into the air to pollute the rest of your house, and stir your allergies as best they can. The draperies act like a air filter if you think about it. They catch all the dust etc floating through the air and hope you remember to clean them, but if they go untouched they become like an overused air filter completely clogged up with dirt etc. Your normal household cleaning process will not even though the surface of what is within them. Also please don’t use a portable upholstery cleaning machine on them you DIY people the water can cause them to shrivel right up. You need someone with fiber knowledge to come in, inspect them, and give you an idea of what we think we can do with them in their current condition. We would come in after this and take them down, address anymore problems, clean, press, and rehang them to your liking! Drapes don’t have to be done every year but at least every couple. THINK OF HOW MUCH MONEY YOU PAID FOR THEM DON’T LET THEM GO TO LONG!
