How Do I Remove Turkey Stains From My Carpet?

This great article we found has great tips on how to remove Turkey (or any poultry stains) from your carpets or upholstery.

How to Remove Turkey or Poultry Stains From Carpet

If (or maybe we should say when) raw or cooked turkey or poultry hits the carpet this Thanksgiving, remove any solids as quickly as possible. Your next step would be to blot the stain with a plain white cloth or paper towel to absorb either the oil or other juices.

From there, mix a solution of one teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in two cups of lukewarm water and use a sponge or soft-bristled brush to work the solution into the stain. Use a white cloth to blot away the stain as it is lifted from the carpet fibers.

Next, use a sponge to “rinse” the stained area with plain water. If you leave any soapy residue in the carpet fibers it will actually attract soil. Keep blotting with a clean white cloth until no more soap remains. Allow the area to dry and then vacuum to lift the carpet fibers.
