Are area carpets and runners just for looks, or can they be purposeful in our household?
Area carpets and runners can play a crucial part in keeping your carpets in tip top shape. You should have the normal size area carpets underneath furniture and coffee tables in your family/den area. This will not only keep the carpet underneath from the wear pattern of the walking in and out thousands of times a year, but can also catch that red wine, or grape soda from reaching your nice white carpet. Also runners are very important especially if you are a person who tends to neglect getting your carpets cleaned at the manufactures standard of once a year. Runner carpets will not only stop the shortening of fibers, but will catch much of the soil if placed in the high traffic entry areas of your household
*****Please note if you have area and runner carpets its imperative that you do clean under and around them(specifically at the edge) because if this is not done you can have a color difference in your carpet from soil that even the most powerful machines like ours cannot get out. Like our other articles state switch up the rooms and rotate everything at least every 6 months so this does not happen.
