Candles are in everyone’s households these days. They make the house smell better and in some cases make it feel like home. With children, animals, and parties at some point you will get wax on your carpets. This can seem extremely scary but you may be alright.
First, apply ice in a plastic bag to the spot as soon as possible. This speeds up the cooling process.- Once the wax has hardened try to scrape away as much as possible with a metal spoon.
- After, take a clean white cloth and lay it over the spot.
- Heat up your iron and rub it over the towel just enough to heat up the wax so it mends to the towl and doesn’t burn your carpet. Repeat this process a couple times.
- Spray a little wd-40 on the spot. You should then go back with your spoon and scrape excess wax away.
- To remove the stain, try using some club soda and blotting as much as possible – do not rub!
- Apply a stack of paper towels and add something heavy over them. Let sit overnight.
- If your stain is not removed from your carpet, give us a call!
