Every year at Christmas there is always going to be some new stains you need to decipher how to take out of your carpet without doing any further damage. Here’s
what we would do to deal with the whole sap situation on your carpet from you tree!
– Get a bottle of rubbing alcohol from your local supermarket, or store.
– Test on your carpet in the corner of a closet to make sure it wont pull pigment, or cause other fiber damage(I always test in the corner of a closet before hand.)
– Using a clean white terry cloth dab at the sap with the rubbing alcohol(Dip the towel in it not poured on directly)
-Depending on severity you may have to use a blunt tool to work the rubbing alcohol into the sap to help dry it up and loosen its grip on the carpet fibers.
– You may need to repeat this process multiple times. If you feel the spot is getting to saturated stop and try it again after giving the spot time to dry.
-Always be careful if you carpet is the type that is glued down as the alcohol can have the capability of causing your carpet to bubble up in that spot due to loosening the glue holding it down.
As always if you have something you don’t feel comfortable cleaning, or have any questions you can always give us a call!
