We do many houses that have had their carpets flood. We aren’t flood restoration experts, but we are sometimes called in by them because our equipment is so powerful. The first step when you figure out that your carpet is wet is to get to the source and stop the water wherever its coming from.
After you stop it you are going to want to get a shop vac, and towels and try to suck/dry up as much moisture as possible. After this is done you are going to want to get as many fans on the area as possible.
Next step is to give us a call. We will come in with our powerful vacuum and extract as much water out as possible. After we get them as dry as possible we will spray a product on your carpeting that will kill off any bacteria, and odor that is on top of your carpeting. Depending on how bad the saturation of your carpet was you may still need to rip your carpet up and treat the backing/padding to prevent mold/mildew damage.
