We have seen many things in our time here at J & R’s Carpet cleaners and one of the most prevalent is Iron burns on apartment, or house carpets. They are a menace to us because they are non-repairable.
We suggest that no matter what you should never iron on carpets. When you do the steam goes right through the fibers of the clothes and ends up taking all of the small single fibers of the carpet and binds/melts them together.
It also is an extreme fire hazard to leave your iron sitting on the carpet. Not only will you be getting wrinkles out of your clothes better on a ironing board, but could also be saving yourself from house fires, or at the least having to replace your carpets
